portland: the homogeneous sleepy city from hell.

this is the crappy italian place we went to for lunch one day. it wasn't quite on par with sergio's on college but it did make me ill for the rest of the afternoon.
a satanic tip for a cheesy waiter. he had a classic quote: "hey, can you do me a favor? *pause* have a good time."
good to see that people in portland at least know that the millennium is coming to a close. you'd never expect it after talking to enough of them. :)
after a week of torture, we were taken to a reception here to have free drinks and food, view exhibits, watch imax movies, and hang out in a submarine.
a scaled down "back to the future" type ride. the graphics weren't nearly as impressive nor was the motion. guess i shouldn't have expected much since it was free.
eric fraser chatting with some person from lbl on the original picturephone. it sort of worked.
matt massie and eric fraser posing in front of a sabre toothed tiger.
a not-so-scary looking wolf from times past.
matt massie commenting on this creature's oral hygeine.
large tusks from some random animal. i was too busy taking pictures to read the descriptions. oh, the sacrifices i make. :)
a mini tornado.
eric trying to hack the display.
a room that simulated an earthquake. having been in a 6.8 quake before, i must say the simulation was pretty tame.
this is actually pretty hard to do when things are shaking really hard, especially in the dark as i was in.
ooooh!
structure composed of cracker boxes. pretty cool.
but this was cooler.
the fish was probably the most impressive of them all.
and so we entered the hunters of the sky exhibit.
a condor. use the chair for scale.
lunch for raptors, disgusting photo for humans.
eric fraser putting on a little show with the hand-held raptors. he made sounds too. too bad i can't post them here.
mmmm. hey, where's my side salad!
freshwater fare.
i guess if you're really hungry.
raptors cruising the city.
these owls look like they have issues with us.
matt massie checking out the girl in this video.
and then it was over: tearing down the booth.
i supervised while people packed things up. i have to document these things, you know. :)
things cleared out really quickly.
another shot of the emptiness.
the rwcp guys had a lot of stuff to ship back to japan.
our booth when it was over.
ok, this was actually on the 19th, not the 18th. fred wong trying on the 24 hour church of elvis bib!
and you thought portland was bad...
